Yes, we take walk-ins at our Redfern studio, subject to what the day looks like. We're one stop from Central. A quick call first is the surest way to get yourself a chair.
What We Can Realistically Tattoo Today
Walk-in work suits pieces that can be drawn or designed, stencilled and finished in one sitting. Anything larger deserves proper design time, and we'd rather book you in than rush it. Good candidates for a same-day session:
Small to palm-sized pieces
Simple designs, light on detail and shading
Lettering, fine line and single motifs
Flash tattoos
If your tattoo is on the smaller side, you don't need placement locked in before you arrive. We'll work that out together once you're here.
Anything that may take longer than 3 hours is better booked in advance.

Plenty of Sydney studios put "walk-ins welcome" in the window and leave it at that. We'd rather tell you how it actually works. We do take walk-ins, and we'll always try to fit you in, but our artists are generally booked anywhere from a fortnight to several months ahead, so a free chair isn't something we can promise, especially on a weekend.

Our studio minimum is $150. That figure exists because the hygiene protocols behind every tattoo are identical whether the piece takes twenty minutes or a full day. The setup, sterile equipment and the time don't shrink with the design. From there:
Smaller tattoos are priced per tattoo, not per hour
Three hours or more is usually charged hourly
Hourly rates vary by artist, so don’t hestiate to reach out
All tattoos are subject to a cost estimate at booking.
The reason we estimate rather than quote is simple: the true cost isn't known until the design is settled and the stencil is printed.

You'll find us at 132 Redfern St, a short walk from Redfern Station and one stop out from Central. We're open Monday to Saturday, 10:30am to 6:00pm, with Sundays by appointment. Clients come to us from right across Sydney, the inner west, the eastern suburbs and the CBD. It's an easy trip whichever direction you're coming from.
For the best chance of a walk in availability, the earlier part of the week is best. Weekends are usually fully booked in advance. Although you may be lucky to snap up a cancellation spot.

A little preparation makes the whole thing quicker and calmer. Bring with you:
Valid photo ID, 18 and over
Reference images A decent meal beforehand, and water
Clothing that gives easy access to the area
One thing worth knowing before you arrive: council regulations mean we can't have plus-ones in the studio. It keeps the space safe and our artists focused, so friends are welcome to wait outside, or in reception if there's room.

We have more than fifteen artists working out of Redfern, across realism, Japanese, oriental, fine line, traditional and lettering. That depth is the reason a walk-in is even possible here.
